During the 1990’s the e-nGauge system designers developed a variety of software solutions for the insurance industry in the UK , including:

• a Company Care quotation system for the UK ’s largest Private Medical Insurance provider
• an International Programme management system for one of the largest German Re-insurance companies
• a Marine and Aviation Insurance system that manages quotes for fleets of aircraft and shipping as well as premium collection and claims handling

All of these Insurance system's utilised complex estimating algorithms based an actuarial tables and processed millions of pounds of business each year so high performance calculations were paramount.

During a meeting with a Litho Printer it became evident that similar calculations that evaluate multiple options would also apply to a Print Estimating application. And so it was decided to develop a system that would utilise company specific rates, presses, paper and industry standard methods to evaluate each and every permutation for a quote and produce the most competitive estimate in a matter of seconds.
